Abstract

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) is one of the economic data sets thatcan be used to evaluate the economic development performance of a region (province)as well as districts/cities). This data set can also be used for purposes and purposesothers, such as as a basis for developing economic models in order to formulatepolicies, the rate of acceleration of the money supply (velocity of money), deepening of the financial sector (financialdeepening), tax determination, export and import studies and so on.According to macroeconomic theory, the calculation of GRDP can be done through three approaches, namely: the production/supply approach (GRDP according to the field of business/industry), the approachfinal expenditure/demand (GDP by expenditure), as well as approachesincome (GDP by income). The three calculation approaches aretheory will produce the same GDP figures. This publication specifically discusses GRDP according to the approachfinal output/demand. This approach is broken down into several components, namely:Household Consumption Expenditure, Consumption Expenditure of Non-Profit Institutions ServingHousehold, Government Consumption Expenditure, Investment (Gross Fixed Capital Formation andChanges in Inventory), Overseas Exports, Overseas Imports, and Inter-Regional Net Exports(exports between regions minus imports between regions). GRDP data in this publication as well assubsequent publications use the base year 2010, and have applied the conceptSystem of National Accounts 2008 as recommended by the United Nations.
